Can’t Access Your Registration Email? How to Recover Your ApplyOrSkip Account
If you can no longer access the email address you used to sign up for ApplyOrSkip, you can still contact us to request a manual account recovery. Because ApplyOrSkip uses email magic links to sign in, we need to verify your identity before we can transfer your account to a new email address — this protects your account from unauthorized access.
When does this apply?
You can use this process if you are in one of the following situations:
- The email address you registered with has been deactivated or is no longer accessible.
- You are a paid / Pro subscriber but can no longer receive magic link emails at your original address.
- You have already confirmed the issue is not caused by a delayed email, spam filtering, or an expired magic link.
What information do we need from you?
To protect your account, we will ask you to provide verifiable account information. Please supply as many of the following as possible:
- Your original registration email address
- Approximate date you created the account
- Approximate date of your most recent successful login
- Your new contact email address
- If you are a Pro subscriber: payment date, amount, Stripe receipt or invoice (if available)
Please note: providing only your name, a new email address, or simply stating “this is my account” is generally not sufficient to complete a recovery.
How do I request account recovery?
Contact us via our support email with the information listed above. Our team will review what you provide and may follow up to request additional details before completing identity verification.
What happens after verification?
If your identity is successfully verified:
- We will send a confirmation email to your new address.
- You will need to verify ownership of the new email address.
- Once verified, we will update your account to the new email.
This step confirms that you genuinely control the new email address and prevents accidental transfers or account impersonation.
How long does it take?
- Standard accounts: typically 1–3 business days.
- Pro / paid accounts: we prioritize these and aim to respond within 1 business day.
- Higher-risk cases may require additional time for manual review.
When might we be unable to help?
If you cannot provide sufficient verifiable information, we may not be able to safely complete the account recovery. This policy exists to prevent unauthorized parties from impersonating account holders and changing login credentials.
A few tips
To reduce the risk of losing access to your account in the future, we recommend:
- Using a personal email address you’ll have long-term access to, rather than a work email that may be deactivated.
- Keeping your email account itself well protected — for example, by enabling two-factor authentication.
- Keeping payment receipts, which can help verify your account if needed later.
